Figuring Out Directions using your compass

You have a compass in your kit. It can be found under the blue tape on the inside of the lid of your AstroKit.

In order to have the compass show you where the directions are, you must do the following:

1. Go outside with the Compass.

2. Turn the compass so that the RED end of the compass lines up the the letter N printed inside the compass as shown:

4. Look at the other letters. E=east, W=west, S=south.

Check around to see what you look toward for each of these directions. Later in the semester, South will be used more often.
